Access
No walk

From Palmerston North southwest to Foxton and Foxton Beach. When you get into Foxton Beach keep going on the main road until you see a campground ahead to the left in Pinewood Rd. Pass the entrance to the campground to the left and drive over a big wide sandy area the size of several football fields towards the dunes next to the river. Park and rig here for sailing on super flat water on the river. For wave sailing drive further through the village past the campground towards the surf life saving club. Big parking area there.

Extra information

Rules
None

You can ride in front of Foxton Beach on the ocean or further south in the river mouth. If the beach is busy in Foxton Beach: walk downwind 100m either way to set up. Do not ride thru the flags if people are swimming. Don't fly your kites over beachgoers. There is a bird sanctuary near the town end of the estuary so stay away from here, the closer you ride to the mouth the better.

Nightlife

Simply Balmy Beach Cafe, licensed and good food.
