Excellent waves. As with most of the Durban beaches there is consistent surf year round. Look out for surfers as there are often a few around in the lighter winds. All of Durban's beaches are shark netted.

Umhlanga is located approximately 15 km North of Durban. Rental car is essential when visiting Durban as there is no public transport that will enable you to get to Durban's beaches or beaches up the North coast or down the South coast.
