Nice lagoon. Water very flat (maybe 2 foot swell on very windy days). Best is from the North with water like glass with strong winds. Very salty.

Follow old Abqaiq road from Ramada Inn. Cross the first railroad, left over 2nd railroad crossing, then rigth on powerstation road. Left after police checkpoint. Right at power station. Left at Vehicle Shop (small shack at T-junction). Right offroad for 30-40km on dirt road. Follow road with sea on left and drive around lagoon (40 minutes). Total trip around one-way 170km (2 hour drive).
Extra information
Saudi Arabia dress code in public. Lagoon is secluded, so no problem with dress code there. Best to camp overnight as winds are best in the morning plus a long drive. No amenities - this is a desert site, so bring camping gear. Coastguard drives past now and then, so have your paperwork ready.
