Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C.

Westerly winds with depressions. Best from fall to spring. Summer lighter. Nice NE and E winds in summer, but not very often. Best waves with westerlies.

Long walk

Drive on A29 to its end and continue on B210 to Jever and Wittmund. Before Wittmund exit onto B461 and drive to Carolinensiel. Here follow signs to Neuharlingersiel. Now take a boat to get to Spiekeroog. No cars allowed on the island. On Spiekeroog arrived get to the north beach. You need to walk about 800m to the beach.

Getting there is very expensive. The boat will charge you for luggage, gear and boards. Try to stay out of the Nature Park.

Nightlife

The island got a pub and a few bars but no clubs, so if you want to relax and have a good time without party or stress, it's a nice place.
