Flat to choppy water. The lagoon is deep but the water west of it is shallow. Long jetty that goes out into the gulf for about 100 yards.

Good place to launch on north winds. Launch in the deep lagoon and ride through the opening or launch on the outside of the lagoon on the western edge.

From Miami drive south towards Key West. Get to Mile Marker 35. There is parking, but you have to walk a couple of hundred yards to the end of the lagoon.
