Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C. The water is a bit warmer than in the ocean.

Good in easterlies. Very nice easterlies in summer, but in general not too often. More westerlies with depressions, which don't work here. North and south good as well.

How to get there

Transport
Car
Access
Short walk

From Stralsund take B96 to Bergen, in Bergen left towards Schaprode. Pass the first exit to Ralswiek and take the second exit towards Ralswiek. Drive to a crossing, don't drive right to Ralswiek but left towards Rappin. In Rappin drive through the village until you see signs to the camping ground. Turn right onto a paved path. Park either at the camping ground. This costs a parking fee and you have to walk a bit and down the hill for 50m as well. Or pass the camping ground and park next to a small meadow for free, cross it to get to the water.
