Waves on some sand banks but mostly no wave interference. Pakefield Corner has the last of the wooden groyne sea defense, so care should be taken when kiteboarding close to this for obvious reasons.

The beach is clean and has some small stones, pebbles and joins Lowestoft Beach which holds the EU Blue Flag Beach award and has pristine golden sand.

The weather is great in the summer with numerous sea breezes. Shorties or no wetsuit is possibly in July and August. However, winter conditions are harsh and the sea temperature low and very cold warranting 5mm wetsuits and hoods in deep winter.

Lowestoft is the most easterly point of England and takes advantage of numerous wind directions. Wind are predominantly sideshore either from the north or the south. And an average wind speed is around 13mph in summer and 15 mph in winter. In summer it has numerous sea breezes keeping us riding throughout the whole of summer.

Out of London, take the A12 to Lowestoft. Only 1.5 hours drive. From the North head for Norwich then for Great Yarmouth and 6 miles further south you will find Lowestoft.
