Main Direction: |
NW |
For Southwest to NNW winds. Summer wind is usually light, fickle and southerly. Not much more than a sea breeze so big gear is a necessity. Better go diving in summer (around 10 knots). Winter rocks, northerly wind regularly blows and can reach 30 knots. Wind feels more consistent too. This is definitely the best time, starts off around mid October and carries on through March usually, normally NW. Northerly winds tends to be gusty.

Nightlife
There is plenty in Naha and around Okinawa city, but lots of bars are full of US military and get rowdy. Other bars won't let you in if you're a foreigner because they think all of us are military.
