Flat to choppy water. Tidal spot. Shallow in high tide, and only in the channel possible in low tide, which is forbidden to kitesurf in! A small dam creates perfect flat water. Watch out for the dam and wooden stakes, which are marking the channel. Careful, wear shoes, lots of sharp mussel shells. Deep water with high tide.

Warm in summer, air about 20-30°C, water 15-20°C. Only a few weeks no wetsuit needed on warm days. Otherwise a wetsuit is always needed. Winter gets cold, but riding possible.

From Wilhelmshaven to Jever and then follow signs to island 'Spiekeroog'. The beach is directly at the harbor from where the ferry leaves to the island.

Kitesurfing only allowed from April to October, 3 hours before and after high tide. Do not kite in low tide in the boat channel. Police will take you off the water. Watch out for the ships coming and going. They have way of rights and don't get in their way. Stay downwind from the passing ships! Windsurfing allowed in the channel.
