The weather is wonderful all year round. The air temp in September to April is 25-35°C and the water temp 20-23°C. In April to August the day air temp is 20-25°C and the water temp is 18-20°C. It is possible to kitesurf, surf all year round. Most people wear board shorts except for May to July they may wear a spring suit.

Mermaid Beach is located in the centre of the city of the Gold Coast. The heart of the Gold Coast is Surfers Paradise. Mermaid Beach is 5 minutes drive south of Surfers Paradise. The main airport for the Gold Coast is located in Coolangatta which is around 25 minutes south of Mermaid Beach. Bus transport travels to Mermaid Beach from both Coolangatta and Surfers Paradise. If you are coming from Brisbane you can go by train/bus.

Nightlife

Mermaid Beach Tavern is a favorite place to go in the afternoons and evening. Later the party moves to the Casino or into Surfers Paradise.
