A beach break exists but only works some times, during winter it can be fun. No reef in the kitezone, downwind has many limestone reefs that are very sharp and would make short work of a kite. Some seaweed on but otherwise great.

In winter most wear a full length wetsuit but the water is still above 16°C. The on season is summer and some still kite during winter but they are storm riders-experienced kiters only.

Short walk |
From Perth: get on Stirling hwy. head south. Turn right at Mosman Park train station so that you cross the level crossing. Head southwest, once you pass the pedestrian bridge you are at the kite beach. From Freo: head up the coast, once over the river head for the sea, go north and you will be driving parallel to the beach, park near the pedestrian bridge. The car park is commonly hit by thieves.
