Beach access protected by retaining walls. About 300-400 foot long beach for launching. In the summer, swimming buoys require riders to launch outside the buoys. Spring and fall riders can launch right from the beach.

Typical winds are 10-20 and 15-25 when it blows and even windier a couple times a month. Summer tends to be the lightest winds. Spring and fall winds are the best. Works in these directions: NE, E, SE, S (S is best).

From I - 90/94 take Hwy 30 heading West. Take Hwy 30 to 113 (north). 113 North to M (west). Governor Nelson is about 3 miles on the left.
Extra information
You need a State park sticker (about $5.00). You have to walk out of the swim area to launch. It is very important you do not fly the kite or ride the board over the swim area!
