The beach is long and wide with firm sand and few stones so don't despair if you arrive when the tide is in because the water covers the entire beach as it laps against the large rocks on the shoreline. The beach is only accessible from the promenade and thankfully for those with sporting equipment there are ramps down onto it.

From Limerick drive northwest on N18 and in Ennis on N85. In Ennistimon take N67 west and pass Liscannor and dve further south until you get to Lahinch.
