Directly at the cape N winds are onshore, also further east.

After arriving at Cancun airport and from there you have 3 possibilities: 1. you booked your holiday by a travel agency. In this case the transport will be arranged in the total deal and somebody is already waiting for you to bring you to the island. 2. you booked only a flight. You have to arrange a taxi by yourself from the airport to Chiquila (more or less 70/80 USD) and from there you can take the ferry to Isla Holbox. 3. you booked only a flight and you don't want to spend to much money on a taxi. In this case you take a collectivo taxi to downtown Cancun with destination bus station. This will cost you 9,- USD (please buy the ticket before you go through customs!) At the bus station you buy a ticket to Chiquila for 6,- USD. The bus trip will take 3 hours and there are no extra costs for taking your kitesurf equipment with you. In Chiquila you take the ferry to Isla Holbox (4,- USD). Bus Schedule: Cancun to Chiquila 8.00 am / 12.30 pm / 13.30 pm. From Isla Holbox you have to take a boat for about 1 hour ride. Just take the bay after the lighthouse (cape) to the west.
Extra information
The whole island is open for kitesurfing on all the beaches during the months November, December, January, February, March and April. Be careful that nothing happens to you, since you are far away from anything, only a few fishermen around. Do not walk beyond the beach, since the mangroves are just behind it. It is a natural reserve, please don't leave any garbage.
