Water

Type:
Shallow, Flat, Chop, Small wave, Medium wave
Hazards:
Reefs, Corals
Quality:
Crystal clear
Best Tide:
Coming tide, Falling tide

As the area has a reef the water tends to be fairly flat. Tide is not really an issue as their isn't much of it. Kiting is always possible but in spring tides it gets very shallow. Anywhere on the Kenya coast is great. As the coast line has a reef there is always the opportunity to do some wave riding on the breakers which is good fun. The reef break is 1 km offshore and gives great waves to play on in addition to the Indian Ocean swell. Great wave periods, amazing sand bars to rest on. Fantastic downwinders over the reef for 15 km.
