Choppy with great breezes, which we call Nortes. In November or during hurricane season, there is a strong current but once your on the water you won't feel it (unless you fall, re-launching is difficult with current).

Not very wide beach but totally deserted except every other tourist and the boat tours. The beach, depending on the season, will have seaweed but not to worry about in cold weather the water in the channel will be warm while the water that comes from the mangroves will be cool in summer.

The most usual is the East, not always strong but good, and when we get a cold front or hurricane close by you will have great winds. So check out the weather a few days ahead and come on over. We have a wind pattern where you get a few days with good sideshore winds then it will switch East. Then you go to the waves, it stays there a couple of days and then switches South and if it is strong it means you will have good winds from the North which we call Brisote or Norte depending on the direction and strength. So all you have to do is wait for the proper conditions.

Short walk |
We have a brand new route from Miami to Cozumel airport but you have to get it on some certain days of the week. Otherwise the normal connection can be either straight to Cancun or from Mexico City to Cancun. From there you take the bus to Playa del Carmen, you can get your ticket at the airport and it is a 45 to 1 hour ride from your bus station you walk to the pier and take the ferry to Cozumel, once you get connected with the right people you can either go to your hotel or straight to kite. The spot is in the north if the island, close to the airport and golf course.
