Water

Type:
Small wave, Medium wave
Hazards:
Rocks
Quality:
Clean
Best Tide:
No information

Big waves, in July when in most places around wave was maximum 2 m, in Biba it was up to 3m and sometimes even looked higher. Waves are spoiled with wind chop though. No reef, therefore there is a shore break, starting approx. 100-150 m from the coast. Easy to get through. Tides are strong and depend on the moon phase, however, this isn't very important because you can easily get to water at any tide.

The beach consists of two lagoons. The one to the left (facing the sea) is larger and has big waves coming to it. One to the right has a very small fishermen village on it's farthest right side, and has flatter water. Perfect soft sand, no rocks, pebbles, corals. Plenty of space to launch.

Wind

Best Months:
June, July, August
Wind Type:
No information
Best Direction:
N, NW, NNW
Main Direction:
N, NW, NNW

The windiest time is June to August. Wind is generally N-NW sideshore, but because the spot has two lagoons, depending on where you ride you can have from sideoffshore to sideonshore. The wind generally blows through the fishermen village, but it's very small (4 to 5 houses, and the coast isn't high), therefore not very gusty. The wind is weak compared to other places like Sidi Kaouki or Moulay, so this spot is a good solution when the wind everywhere else is too strong for kiting. When is Moulay and Sidi Kaouki the wind is 40 knots, in Biba it's 20-24 knots. Wind is gustier during the day and getting more even at approx. 6 pm.

How to get there

Transport
Car
Access
Short walk

From Agadir (airport) by taxi or rented car (30-40 Euro in the airport for Fiat Uno type car) to Essaouira (approx. 2.5 - 3 hour drive). From Essaouira to the north (Moulay village can be used as a guideline). Drive past Moulay another 20 km on the main road. Then there will be a sign `Bhibah` to the left on the main road, turn left and then there is a pebble road - drivable by normal car (like Fiat Uno) though. The place is easy to see from the main road - when you have passed Moulay this is the first high mountain where you can see ocean from the road, and there is a lagoon on the coast - difficult not to spot it.
