Flatter water on the West side of the pier. If you want to do pier jumps you can drift launch from the pier and then tack up wind past it. But the water is a bit choppier on the east / upwind side of the pier so tougher to commit to an edge for pop - also - if you bail out get ready some nasty seaweed and trash as it collects on the upwind side of the pier.

Most guys pump up on the pier and do a drift launch (you can drive / park your car there). There is a small beach on both sides next to the pier that you can launch on also. Depending on wind direction you need to QR to land and pull your kite in or you may be able to have someone land you.
