200 yards long sand bar at the river mouth of the Tchfuncte River in the very north of the lake. Many boaters during warm weekends, then don't launch kites.

Hot and humid in the summer. Wetsuit in the winter time when cold air from the fronts blow through. Water temps varies with the seasons. Very warm in the summer and cools off to wetsuit temperatures in winter.

In the very north of the lake. You need a boat to get to this sandbar. But you can also drive to the opposite side of the river. Get to Madisonville and take the Main St south to its end and park here. The sandbar is just across the river.
