Watch out for drunks in 4x4's and anyone driving on the beach. Since 2016, wooden piles prevent beach access by any vehicles, making it impossible to drive to the gulf side beach and the westerly starting point of the lagoon.

Make sure to drive 50mph in Golden Meadow or you will get a ticket. In Golden Meadow, you must pay the toll bridge, cash or credit, 3 USD.
Extra information
Watch the tides. This is a barrier Isle and can completely go underwater at high tide. Enjoy your session just keep an eye on the tide or you might get stuck. If it grows - leave it! Take your trash with you. If it's green, then don't drive on it!
