Waves in southern and eastern wind directions, while there will be flat water when the wind comes from the Southwest. This means that the hotspot has a lot to offer both the flat-water enthusiast as well as the wave rocker, and the beach itself offers a number of small cozy corners. The water is shallow some 20-30 meters off coast after which it gets deep, and since the sea is very open here at Brunbjerg, it is necessary that you are able to relaunch your kite from deeper waters and that you can go upwind – combined, this makes it a really fun hotspot for the experienced kite surfer.

You find the beach of Brunbjerg in a small bay with fine sand. During summer you need to expect other users of both the beach and the water; make sure to look out for them. On the beach you will find an emergency triangle, and you have a terrific view overlooking the sea.

To really make this hotspot work, it is best kite surfed in winds coming from Northeast to east and Southeast as well as from the South to Southwest.

For the persistent tracker there is a pearl of a kite hotspot to be found about 15 minutes south-east of Haderslev. The last part of the drive is traveled on a dirt road leading you close by the camping site “Halk Strand Camping” on your way to the sea. The parking opportunities by the beach are good and plentiful, and restrooms are found on the camping site a couple of kilometers from the beach – it is open from April to approx. the middle of September. Halk Strand Camping features a small store and a variety of possibilities for entertainment that you can make use of if you stay in the camping site.
