No tides, water can be flat or choppy depending on the winds. With Southeast and Northwest winds the water is flat and the conditions are ideal cause the winds are sideshore. With Southwest winds the waves can be high up to 2-2.5m. With eastern and northern winds the sea is flat but the winds are then offshore.

Nice sand beach with nice bars and crowds on the south, being mostly uncrowded on the north side. After the last kiosk there is a dedicated kite-launch area.

Thermal winds (almost) every day in spring and summer. Otherwise Southwest and western winds are really common in remaining seasons (3-4 days a week). Winds blow from 10-15 up to 30 knots.

Short walk |
From Fiumicino International Airport follow signs to 'Fiumicino' Village, then turn right towards 'Focene - Fregene' and always follow signs to Fregene. When arriving in Fregene's beach promenade just turn right and get to the end of the village, into the 'Villaggio dei Pescatori'. Park and walk to the beach.
Extra information
This area is one of the few in Rome's surroundings where kitesurfing is permitted in summer. There is a law from the Coastal Authority that forbids kitesurfing from May to September everywhere but in the authorized areas. After the last kiosk there is a dedicated kite-launch area.
