The Baltic Sea offers nearly freshwater and no tide or current. In Oerudden the water is flat to choppy, but a bit further away from shore you will find nice waves. If the there have been strong SW wind a few days, up to 3m swells coming in from SW, if you go further around the south tip to Stenstrand.

The spot is a boulder-ridge from the ice-age. It's up to 30m to the tree line from the water, this is where rigging takes place. It's recommended to launch and land kites while surfer is in the water and the assistance is in the boulder beach area.

Full wetsuit recommended, months around July often it's possible to leave gloves and the booties. Drysuits are common for kitesurfers in the area. The site is probably covered with ice during January and February.

From Stockholm it's 7.3 miles. Road 73 south towards Nynaeshamn, follow the signs for Toroe and then Oerudden.

Beginners should search alternate spots, kitesurfer must have skills to go upwind at least. Respect the locals living in the area. The spot is also protected by the Swedish natural environment laws, due to it rarely found vegetation and terrain.
