Best Tide: |
High tide |
The river mouth offers some excellent flat water 2 or 3 hours either side of high tide and a good standing depth in which to do some practice skills. The waves at the entrance to the river are usually less crowded and give the more experienced rider an awesome playground. Tide restrictions: watch out for a strong tide in the river mouth at peak times. Only launchable 2 hrs either side of high tide. Very little water in river at low tide, board leash required if tide is strong or you will loose your board!

Extra information
Be warned if you get washed/dragged up the river towards Hayle harbor you should land/secure your kite on the shore and walk back up to the river mouth before relaunching. Please remember that this is the entrance to a busy working harbor. Leave plenty of space for fishing boats and make it clear that you are moving out of their way.
