Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C.

Get to Sylt. Here drive all the way north and before you reach List, turn left and follow signs to `Ellenbogen`. Pay an access fee to the private land and drive slowly all the way to its end and park. Access the beach south of the parking lot.

For windsurfers only. Kitesurfers have their own beach a few hundred meters before. Do not surf to the north of the parking, since the current here is very dangerous.

Small nightlife in Kampen and Westerland, mainly in summer.
