Summer is nice and warm. High season a short is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C.

From Kiel take the B503 to the North and get to Surendorf. Turn left onto the Seestrasse and downhill to the water. At the end of the road you will find a camping site directly at the beach with a big parking lot. During season you need to pay for beach access.
Extra information
About 400m to the left a military no-go zone is located. Don't get into the swimming zone and be careful with beach users on hot days.
Nightlife
You can go to the bar Bar "Strandoase", which hosts the legendary full moon parties.
