Flat to choppy water in the shallow areas. Small waves which can get bigger with stronger winds. Fun waves to play with. Tidal beach, but always shallow for about 100-200m. Lots of space on the water, it can never get packed. In high summer some swimmers, but always lots of space to left and right. A small lagoon forms to the South on high tide. Shallow but ridable, gets deeper to its South end. Currents depend on the tide, but not too strong. A few shells on the bottom.

Huge sandy beach. Soft and hard sand. You need to walk a long way to the water's edge. About 700m on low tide and 500m on high tide. No obstacles, only a few wooden markers with the tide table on it. Few shells on the beach.

Nice in high summer, water can be around 20°C, air between 20-30°C. Shorty is fine or even shorts on hot days. Otherwise a wetsuit is needed, short arm with long legs fro about end of May to September. Riding through winter possible, but very cold.

Winds depend on westerly depressions. Any westerly will work, only NW will can be a bit gustier. Perfect for W and SW. Also any southerly will work excellent. Any strength possible. Best winds from fall to spring.

Long walk

Drive on A23 to its end and follow the B5. Shortly after you crossed a small bridge follow signs to St. Peter and turn right onto B202. Follow the road until you see signs to St. Peter Dorf or Boehl. Do not take the first exit which says for trucks. Turn left the second signs. Follow the street until you cross railroads and turn left. Follow the signs over the dam onto the beach and park. Parking fees.

Very little nightlife in St. Peter.
