There is a sandbar which shows at low tide and this leaves a flat water lagoon in front of the sandbar. Also at high tide there is a large lagoon that fills on tides over 5.2m.

The best place to park is at the bottom of Zinc Works Road. Make sure you park on the verge as there is lorries which use the road to access the sand sand quarry. If the gate to the quarry is shut then it is still fine for you to walk through to get to the beach.
