Summer is nice and warm. High season a shorty is ok, a few weeks with just shorts is possible. Usually a wetsuit is always needed. Water max 22°C in summer, normally around 15°C. Winter gets cold, but a thick wetsuit, gloves, mask and shoes make kiting almost year-round possible. Air: summer between 20-30°C, spring and fall around 15°C. The water is a bit warmer than in the ocean.

From Stralsund take B196 and B96 to Bergen, then to Sassnitz. Take L30 towards Sagard and Altenkirchen. Stay on the road and follow signs to Wiek and get to the Bodden and find the launch. A faster way is to take B196 from Stralsund, before Bergen onto B96 then on L301 towards Trent. In Trent take L30 to the North. Get to Fischersiedlung and take the Wittower Ferry to cross the Breetzer Bodden. This ferry can get very packed in summer causing a long wait. Once crossed, follow L30 to Wiek.
