Dead flat. The first few hundred meters it's about ankle to knee deep - so no spot for launching big airs. Twintip boards come in handy - if you bring your mutant or directional, bring weed-fins as well.

From Stralsund, head for 'Insel Ruegen' stay on the mainroad once you crossed the bridge. Take a left in Samtens, heading for Gingst. Follow the signs to Schaprode. The spot is a small parking lot just north of the ferries. Or exit via the camping area (parking fees).

North of the camping ground is a bird reserve, kiting is prohibited here. You will get fined. Windsurfing is not prohibited.

Nightlife

Go to Bergen, the biggest town. Ask for a club called Mah'k Ina (pronounced muh kuh eena) on weekends.
