Choppy water with small waves. Small shore break where the wind blows onshore. Reefs to the east of the bay and around the point, but under water on high water levels.

Beautiful bay with palm trees along the shore. The beach is sandy and not wide. The widest beach can be found to the east of the bay. Normally the beach does not get crowded, only during Sunday locals can be around.

Warm and sunny all year round. Normally just shorts, shorty with cold fronts. The local kite schools tend to go to Portillo for kite surfing. It is more shallow and has fewer rocks. The wind also tends to be a bit stronger there.

The best season will be from April to August, you can have wind all year round except for October to December. It can be as consistent as Cabarete but not as strong. The usual direction is Northeast, trade winds, which gets accelerated with thermals. You can expect around 16 knots during summer. During winter northerly winds can blow bringing some waves.

From the international airport Samana follow signs to Las Terrenas. Enter Las Terrenas and follow the main street to the beach. At the east end of Las Terrenas you will find Punta Popy. You can park at the point, but here you will have onshore winds. For sideshore winds you can park along the street further east or with a 4x4 close to the water if you drive off road.
