Puerto Velero has flat water, since it is a protected bay. Shallow for about 50-100m. Go downwind to the point for the best flat water and cleanest wind. The upwind part of the bay crowded with swimmers during weekends. Waves on the ocean. Best waves at a sandbar and at the point at the end of the bay.

Many huts along the coast for beach-goers. Not much space to launch. Mostly launched where the car parks, directly behind the huts. The beach on the ocean side has lots of driftwood, so better launch your kite just behind the beach.

Strong winds from January to May. Can be very gusty/wind pockets, especially in the afternoons. More constant winds further down the bay but there is not an official rescue. Or in the middle of the bay. Winds normally increase in the afternoon.
