The Point is the windiest location in Geraldton as it is situated at the end of a land mass that just 4 km out to sea and therefore receives the wind first. It is perfect in the mornings for beginners with the late morning and afternoon providing the right conditions for intermediate and advanced windsurfing and kitesurfing. It constantly tops 20 knots and more during summer. Mainly SW wind, but in the afternoon the sea breeze can kick in from the North.
