There's a special seabreeze due to Ölands dry landscape and the proximity to mainland Sweden. This is most noticable in the spring when the water is cold and the land is warm, average wind is probably 20knts and almost always from the South.

How to get there

Transport
Car
Access
Short walk

From Kalmar, drive across the bridge to Öland. Turn south towards Färjestaden, 10km from the bridge you will see signs for Haga Park. It's one of the biggest camping grounds in Sweden so it will be hard to miss. Sandbergen is just south of it where the kiters are.

Sandbergen is the kitebeach for the Haga Park, which is for windsurfers. A good beginners spot, with windsurfing club and rescue boats (sunny summer days, and windy spring days). Don´t rely on the windsurfers rescue boats to come and get you if you are just drifting around on shallow water, but usually they will keep an eye on kiters drifting too long out in the sea.
