Find the smoothest water on the island at Flat island. But don't get too close cause parts of the island are not under water completely.

Launch is easy but down wind by Kaiua Beach Park or launch at Lanikai and do a downwinder. Space is not always enough for a rookie kiter.

Short walk |
Take the H3 highway from the airport and follow signs to Kailua. From Kailua you need to drive down to the beach and turn right towards Lanikai. See the other kiters and launch from the same place.
Extra information
Don't blow it for every one else. If you are a beginner take a lesson. If you are not sure, take a lesson. Kiteboarders have the last priority on this beach. So give way and stay away from everyone. Variety of other sports are available year round near flat island: surfing, kayaking and snorkeling are great when the wind dies.
Nightlife
Honolulu and Waikiki have lots to do every night.
