Very long beach and the sand is soft, no rocks. There is enough space to safely launch and land a kite.

Is very hot, only in December to February the wind is cold but the water is OK, you need wetsuit only in these months. Surfing possible all year, but the best season is March to July because the sea is not crazy (many waves) when the wind is from Southeast. The water is warm all the time, sometimes cool, over 15°C.

The wind is 15-25 mph in March to June from the Southeast, in October to February we have strong winds 18-50 mph from the North or Northeast. The light wind is in July to September 8-12 mph from the East or East/Southeast. The wind direction is sideshore when the wind is from Southeast, and sideshore/onshore when the wind is from North or Northeast. Never offshore winds.

The beach is 25 minutes from the Tampico, Miguel Aleman international airport. You can fly from Houston, Texas or you can drive from Mcallen or Brownsville, Texas for 5.5 hours. There are buses from the USA too.
