Best Tide: |
Low tide |
Try to avoid the gear trashing shore dump at high tide, it is certainly powerful, but once the tide drops below the steep shingle bit of the beach, the waves become a lot softer and a great introduction to learn to fly in this sea state. It is a great location for all levels when the tide is 3/4 hours either side of low water. Tide restrictions: avoid at high tide as little beach left and a very heavy shore break if there is any swell.

Be aware the imposing St Michael's Mount also throws up in an easterly and south easterly wind quite a wind shadow. Best direction: W and SW (E & SE winds can be a little gusty because of St Michaels Mount getting in the way).
