There are two areas at either end of the beach that people use. To the North in the Baie do Canche (signes for Basse Natuquie Nord) Excellent flat water behind the sand spit. Nice waves in front of the spit. Best waves in W, SW and NW winds and outgoing tide. Watch out for the current. In the South (follow signs for Basse Nortique Sud) people kite surf / land board etc on the huge beach.

Nice sandy beach with lots of space. Nice dunes behind the beach.

Winds with Westerly depressions. Best from fall to spring. Summer lighter. Often winds from Southwest which is the best direction for waves. West wind in autumn is onshore and brings big waves.

From Paris west on E15/A26 towards Dunkerque/Calais, then to Boulogne, then south on A16 to Etaples. Then west to Le Touquet.

During summer the swimming zone is forbidden for all types of surfing.
