The kite beach in Chigasaki is the section on the right hand side of the harbor when facing the ocean. The beach user are generally more further east around Kamakura. The kite beach is generally relatively empty.

Due to the topology of the bay, the wind are generally strait onshore. Due to the strait on shore wind it can be difficult the pass the waves with more than 15 knots of wind.

Short walk

From Tokyo by train take the Tokaido Line and stop in Chigasaki station. From the Chigasaki station can can take a bus to the sea side or walk (2 km). You can also go by car. There is a car park close to the harbor directly on the kite beach. Be aware that the car park is locked with a chain after 17:00, so do not leave you car in the car park after this time.
