The water is dangerously shallow. Many unmarked and hazardous obstacles underwater downwind and near the shoreline. Kiters must be able to stay upwind or wear rattlesnake proof booties!

Launching off private property. To the north about 300 yards at the end of the road is a less good launch spot, but it is on public property. The beach is small and surrounded by cactus. Watch out for fishermen and duck hunters.

Steady SE winds blowing from 10-20 knots October to May. Holly has one of the steadiest springtime late afternoon Southeast thermals. Strongest thermal effect can be found here, so if the wind is light everywhere, this spot could work.
