Easiest is a rental car. Follow the signs to the Outer Banks from Norfolk (route 168S and then 158S). Then take route 12 south all the way down and just north of Avon find Ramp 34. Walkable for 2-wheel drivers.

Watch out for fishermen and surfers. Don't park on the crest of the hill. Do not enter the bird use areas, which are well marked.
