Southeast Korea has three main wind directions - SW (usually spring through fall, but very light in the summer); NE (usually spring and fall); NW (usually winter). This beach works well with S, SW, and NW (also N and W) winds. The winter NW winds are the strongest winds and should be ridden right at the river mouth between the main beach and the sand bars. Bring big kites for S/SW winds: 14 to 20 sqm; smaller for NW winds: 10 to 16 sqm. Due to the shape of the beach and the many sand bars, one can find side and side/onshore riding areas at different locations around the spot.

Extra information
This is the kitesurfer's beach for southeast Korea. It has all the ingredients - large safe launch, shallow water, decent wind September to May. See Sinyang Beach, Cheju Island for better kiting (1 hour flight from here). Be prepared to go to Jinha following a kite session here, as SW winds are usually followed by NE winds in the spring and fall. South winds are for Dadaepo; NE winds are for Jinha and Pohang.
Nightlife
Karaoke bars and Korean BBQ with Soju. Locals are very friendly and extremely curious about kitesurfing.
