Nice waves when onshore winds and high tide, choppy when sideshore and low tide. With sideshore winds the water gets choppy. With high tide a lagoon is created, shallow for some hundred meters. On South and Southwest winds very nice waves (up to 1.5m), excellent for surfing. On the other side of the dam (Oosterscheldedam) is the Veersemeer with flat water. Some sandbars in the water, which are changing due to the different currents in the water. Be careful if the dam doors are opened, then a strong current takes you away from shore.
