The water is crystal clear, turquoise, relative warm with absolutely no reefs or any other obstacles. The tide is about 90 cm with no influence on the surfing conditions. Practically no or small shore waves. The water is generally flat to gentle chops. It's a dream for beginners. You can stand in the water as far as 150 m from shore. There is a reef and you can definitely get some nice cuts.

The water temperatures are very comfortable (22-27 C°) all year long. The air is very hot in the summer. During winter it is nice during the days and chilly during the nights. Spring and autumn have splendid temperatures.

The wind is most of the time sideonshore to sideshore, good for surfing all the year around (60-80 %). 4 Bft or better is almost a certainty during September and October. Generally every morning there is a steady wind 10-14 knots and during the afternoon gets stronger and somehow gusty.

Bawaki is in the Sinai Peninsula on the gulf of Aqaba, between Dahab and Taba, 18km north of Nuweiba and about 160 km north of Sharm el Sheik. Approximately 5 hours drive from Cairo. From Aqaba (Jordan), by ferry to Nuweiba is approximately 90 minutes. If you're coming by land from Eilat (Israel), Bawaki is 50 km south of the border. Taba (40 km), Sharm el Sheik (about 150 km).
