The water is always a bit warmer than the other Baltic Sea spots because it is very shallow. A wetsuit is necessary nearly all over the year. The water is between 5-20°C (spring to summer), air temperature is in the average 18°C (in summer) and can go up to 30°C. If you have the adequate wetsuit you can surf from April to November. Off-season is possible but very cold.

Drive from Kiel to Laboe on the B502. But do not turn left to the big monument, go straight ahead until you reach the restaurant `Aukrog` (about 1km).
