Water

Type:
Shallow, Flat, Chop
Hazards:
Stones
Quality:
Clean
Best Tide:
Tide independent

Very flat water, some chop. Shallow water 500-700m out. A couple of stones, but they are marked with buoys. With lots of rain a small lagoon form between the parking lot and the beach, which can be ridden as well.

Beach

Type:
Grass, Sand
Size:
Small
Hazards:
Shells
Beach Users:
None

Enough room to land and launch kites. The 'beach' is not really a beach suited for normal bathing - since it is so shallow close to the shore. The rigging area is a mix of sand, shells and grass. Can get very crowded on a good summer day. Very few tourist and bathing guests.

You will probably find kitesurfers here all year round - but the `normal` season will be between April/May till October. Bring a full wetsuit. In the summer a short sleaved wetsuit is fine.

Wind

Best Months:
March, April, May, September, October, November
Wind Type:
Frontal
Best Direction:
S, SSW, SW, WSW, W
Main Direction:
SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW

Sometimes gusty wind. Especially when the wind comes from Northwest. This spot will work in westerly winds, which is the dominant wind direction in Denmark. Often less wind during summer. In West wind the best place in Copenhagen.

How to get there

Transport
Car
Access
Short walk

30min south of Copenhagen' center, most Southwest point on the island Amager. Look for roadsigns with "Kongelunden" and "Sydvestpynten". The airport is at the southeast side of this island. A small lagoon can be in front of the beach, which you have to walk through to get to the beach, or walk all the way around it.
