Nice grassy launches but north side of lake has prickly pear so watch out for these. Launch from anywhere which gives you the best advantage. It's not alkali goo along the shore, it's good grassy shore on the south side.

Any wind direction works for this lake. If its 12+ you can pick your location. All public land. Be able to self launch/land. Use your pickup to launch from. Wind is clean from any direction but definitely check the forecast before going. It's good when it's good and dead when it's not.

How to get there

Transport
Car
Access
No walk

If its rained much recently you may not want to try, bad gumbo once you leave the county road, you'll get stuck. If its dry you don't really need 4wd, just decent clearance(tall grass & sage, small ruts . From Grass Range, MT go east on highway 200 for about 12 miles. In Teigen turn North on gravel, Blakeslee Rd. Go 5 miles north, you'll see the lake on the right. Best access to the lake is a small jeep trail on the south side of lake, hardly any prickly pear on the South shore of the lake.
