The beach is about 8km in length and curves around. This means that if the wind is not the perfect direction at this location, you have the option of heading further south to Ramp Rd where a more northerly wind direction becomes cross/on shore.

Tokerau Beach is a small settlement at the northern end of Doubtless Bay with a campground and a few houses.

Nightlife

None in the settlement, but there is a vinyard/golf resort about 3-4km away and Wahtuwhiwhi has a small shop and peterol station plus a couple of food outlets which may be open depending on the season.
