There are only two seasons. They are determined by the direction of the wind. Southeasterly wind season and the Northwesterly wind season. The SE wind season brings the best winds. The wind is sheltered by a hill called Pyramid Hill during the SE wind season so launching from the beach can be tricky. Best way is to walk with your kite about 20m out and launch from the water when a gust passes through. Then head out to deeper water quickly. Once clear of the hill, you will get solid cross onshore wind.

How to get there

Access
No walk

A car can be used to drive the majority of the way to Sero beach, however you really need a 4x4 for the last 500m as the dirt road is heavily potholed, and usually flooded in spots.
