During summer thermal winds blow from the Westcoast and then get accelerated, blows offshore further south and then turns to SW here. Normally winds are stronger than forecasted. Pay attention to the wind power plants to the North on the hills...when the furthest left one switches direction, immediately get off the water, since winds will switch offshore within 5 minutes. Or when locals call you off the water, immediately land the kite.

Kitesurfing always downwind of the shore in accordance with the swimmers. The center has a compressor to pump kites.
Not a lot in winter and fall, but very enjoyable in summer, specially in Crotone.
